General Inferno Dragon + Lava Hound Strategy Guide:

Please be reminded that if your deck consist of high-cost elixir card like Lava Hound, it means that kind of deck is not a rush type deck where you can immediately counter an attack. Since this is a slow push deck, first we to build our elixir collector for an elixir advantage in the middle of the game.

First things first! Place the elixir collector in the field. Once you already build up some elixir, its time for you to drop the Lava Hound at the back of the arena. This will give you enough time to prepare for additional support for the Lava Hound. Since the Lava Hound travels really slow, drop the Inferno Dragon behind the Lava Hound. The Inferno Dragon will slightly push the Lava Hound so it will reach the tower faster than the normal speed.

Inferno Dragon is a single target unit so it can be easily distracted with small troop units like minion or goblins. So before that happens, you will need to support this two flying units with the Wizard. The Wizard will do all the damage to any swarm troops. The only weakness of the Wizard is if he gets surrounded by troops like Barbarians.

Since the main role of the Lava Hound in this deck is to tank, all you need to do is to protect the Inferno Dragon and let him target the crown towers. If your Inferno Dragon successfully reached and attacked the crown towers, you will surely get it.

Counters and Match-ups:

Since this is a slow push deck, there are instances that your enemy will counter push on the other lane of the arena. Well, this is what normally happens.

So if you encounter this situation, you have the troops to use to defend it.

  • Hog Rider Deck – ¬†Usually Hog Rider combo is dropped on the other side of the line when the time you dropped the Lava Hound. To counter this, you’re going to use your skeletons, goblins or minions.
  • Miner Deck – The miner is used to counter a deck with elixir collector. Since you have an elixir collector, your opponent will reserve its miner to counter your elixir collector. So what you have to do is placing the elixir collector between the two crown towers and wisely guess where the miner will pop-up. Dropping a unit like skeletons before the miner pop-up is the best choice to counter it.
  • Giant + Balloon Deck¬†– This deck is actually easy to counter since you have low-cost elixir troops that can easily take it down. But be cautious before dropping your troops because it only takes an arrow to kill them all.

Although this Inferno Dragon Lava Hound deck can give you easy three-crown. Keep in mind that your opponent is not sleeping. So be attentive and wise before making an offense. Be sure that you have a good troops for defense.
